San Jose del Cabo The town of San Jose del Cabo is centered around the Old Town Square, the Historic Catholic Church, a variety of fine dining, shops and art galleries. An afternoon is great for shopping, but begin your evening nightlife with dinner, art, cocktails and live music. During the months of October to May, the Art and Restaurant District work together to promote the Art Walk every Thursday evening. Check out Boulevard Morelos, two blocks West of the Main Street and behind the Church and Town Square . Among the host of galleries and restaurants, are three of the trendiest and hottest spots that have decorated this street with great taste, culture and social welcoming. Start the evening with a cultural walk through the Art District. Each Gallery will tickle your senses and open your eyes to the authenticity of Mexico. Your senses will be especially turned on at Casa Dahlia, located at the start of the Art District on Morelos St. near the corner of Obregon. Casa Dahlia is an up and coming gallery with fine tastes in its sensuality of art and leisure. Keep looking in this gallery where among other things you will want to relax in its peaceful garden setting where tea, coffee, and wine is served alongside a variety of tasty tapas. As a treat, enjoy a selection from the Gallery's humidor and hookahs, or the flavors of the delicious nightly deserts. This Contemporary Art Gallery has turned heads not only because of its unique fusion of art and leisure, but also because of its charming taste. Casa Dahlia's art starts first with the authenticity and restoration of the building's original architecture. Owners, Leah Porter and Julio Montero's style and personality set the gallery's tone with subtle lighting, soft music and the aromas wafting from the garden. Leah is the daughter of famed landscape painter Dennis Wentorth Porter who opened one of the first galleries in San Jose in the 90's. The work of Leah Porter herself is framed among other invited abstract artists such as Lisa Joyce-Hill, Sondra Richardson, Christian Borrego, Charles Stewart, and Angelica Labastida. The evening is social in the relaxing tea garden with comfortable seating, conversation around the fire and friendly service. Casa Dahlia is open in the mornings and afternoon from 10am – 2pm and in the evenings from 6pm to 10pm. Stop in to see, taste and smell the Art of San Jose. El Spicey Coopers is an Italian restaurant that offers both charm and spunk. You can enjoy a romantic evening dining on the Romeo and Juliet balcony or tap your toes to the live shows and Latin music. The energy shared among the entertainers, serving staff and guests keep this spot on the top of the list. Just next door to Casa Dahlia's Gallery, enter near the corner of Morelos and Obregon through a gated, garden entrance. Just up the stairs you'll be hosted with friendly smiles and a bright décor that keeps up with the beat of the night. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Either come for dinner, wine, or stay for the live music, pool table or just good ‘ol fashion fun! Location
